Epic of Serinor: Arcane Dawn

Pigeon Crash

Jan reconstructs a message from his sister

Jan was just bedding down for the morning when a clay pot fell from the sky and shattered beside him. He knew of only a few halflings in Amunash who could access the Plane-Infused Global Exchange of Notes, but it was very obviously a pigeon that had just smashed itself into hundreds of shards beside him. It proved impossible to reconstruct the jar completely, but he could piece the fragments together well enough to get a general idea of the message. Though in itself innocuous, the pigeon’s very existance caused him concern; he didn’t know that he wanted his sister asssociating with the few halflings with an elemental spark.

I hope you are well. Giles is teaching me the basics of making pigeons. I hope my first messages found you okay. It’s harder when we don’t know exactly where…

…believe it! An elf couple showed up in Amunash the other day. And one of them’s a songweaver. I can’t understand any of the words, but the music is so beautiful. His wife, Thenidiel, spends a lot of time with Giles and me since we all know a little fairy-speak. She seems so…

…planning to leave soon. I know Ostia is looking forward to it, but I don’t know if the other dwarves like him all that much. I know the two of you are close, and he mentioned taking you with him. That would…

…kind. Giles and Miffy both watch out for me while you’re gone. Your missions are so important to everybody. I miss you, but I know…

Nothing else could be reconstructed.
